Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the task by describing the two pie charts, but the coverage is uneven. While you identify the main categories, the analysis lacks a clear overview or summary of the key trends, which is essential for Task 1. The report relies heavily on listing figures rather than synthesizing the information. For example, you mention 'higher % of pie chart is travel 33%' but fail to compare this effectively with other categories or provide a cohesive summary of the data. To improve, ensure you group related data points and highlight the most significant differences or similarities between the two charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is disjointed. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'First chart' and 'Now', but the transitions are often mechanical and repetitive. The lack of clear linking words makes the progression of ideas feel like a list rather than a cohesive report. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'co change' in the second paragraph, which is confusing for the reader. Improving the use of cohesive devices and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on the words provided in the prompt. Phrases like 'higher % of pie chart' and 'small %' are used repeatedly, which restricts the range of your writing. There are also errors in word choice and phrasing, such as 'buying property by the overseas' and 'information gives by chart'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider variety of synonyms and more precise terminology to describe data trends, such as 'the majority', 'a significant proportion', or 'a marginal increase'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('The pie charts compares'), missing articles ('in britain'), and awkward sentence structures ('It means business and work are good in britain that's the reason of learning'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and the appropriate use of articles. Incorporating a few more complex sentences with accurate punctuation would also help demonstrate a better command of grammar.
