Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the pie charts, including the most common reasons and the reported changes. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, cohesive overview. While you identified the key data points, the comparison between the two charts is occasionally confusing, particularly in the final paragraph where the interpretation of the 'travel' data seems inaccurate based on the provided charts. To improve, ensure you group data logically and provide a more insightful summary of the trends rather than just listing percentages. The report addresses the prompt, but the lack of clarity in data interpretation limits the score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'After a meticulous investigation' and 'After increasing of people interest'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, making it difficult to follow the comparison between the two charts. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the first and second chart could be smoother. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the main points, such as 'meticulous investigation' and 'respectively'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'largest record for reasons' and 'huge rates between people learn'. These errors occasionally impede the flow of the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary appropriate for a report, and ensure that you use words in their correct grammatical form (e.g., 'interest in' rather than 'interest of').

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with articles ('the largest record'), prepositions ('rates between people'), and verb forms ('people learn languages' instead of 'people learning languages'). Some sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'it can be noticed is that', which affects clarity. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of complex sentence structures to improve accuracy.
