Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have attempted to describe the data from the pie charts, the information is presented in a fragmented manner, and the analysis is incomplete. You have listed some figures but failed to provide a meaningful comparison or a clear overview of the trends. The summary provided in the final paragraph is confusing and does not accurately reflect the data presented in the charts. To improve, ensure you provide a clear overview, select key features for comparison, and meet the minimum length requirement to allow for full development of your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response lacks logical progression. The sentences are short and choppy, and the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often incorrect. For example, starting sentences with 'And' or 'But' repeatedly creates a disjointed flow. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two charts. You need to use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'in contrast', 'furthermore', 'whereas') to connect your ideas more fluidly and improve the overall organization of your report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic phrasing such as 'the teacher learning language' and 'in increase people learning'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'intrest', 'foregin', 'devolpment', and 'deacrising', which hinder clarity. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', 'experienced', or 'witnessed'. Expanding your range of vocabulary will help you describe the charts with greater accuracy and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the percentage of teacher reporting'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures (e.g., 'the business or work in 26%'). You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and prepositions. Additionally, ensure you proofread your work to correct basic errors in punctuation and word order, which currently make the text difficult to read.
