Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. Furthermore, the report is incomplete; it fails to describe all the data points provided in the charts, focusing only on a few select figures. The overview is also somewhat inaccurate, as it misinterprets the data regarding the 'most popular' reason. To improve, ensure you cover all categories presented in the charts and provide a more comprehensive summary of the trends, ensuring the response length is sufficient to fully develop your points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized into two short paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is limited due to the brevity of the text. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'However', their usage is sometimes mechanical or logically inconsistent with the data being presented. Paragraphing is present, but the overall structure lacks the depth required for a formal report. To improve, focus on grouping related data points together and using a wider variety of linking words to create a smoother flow between sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'travelling is most common reason' (missing articles) and 'students increases for this reason' (incorrect verb usage). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the data with precision. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to data description, such as 'a significant proportion', 'the primary motivation', and 'a marginal increase', and pay closer attention to article usage and pluralization.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with article usage ('the travelling', 'the most popular reason'), subject-verb agreement ('students increases'), and sentence structure ('The both pie charts illustrate proportion...'). The range of structures is limited to simple sentences, with no successful attempts at complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the correct use of articles, plurals, and verb tenses when describing statistical data.
