Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the key features of both charts and provided a clear overview. You accurately highlighted the primary motivations and the notable shifts in trends. However, there are some inaccuracies in the data reporting. For instance, you mentioned 'social contract' instead of 'social contacts' and there is a typo in the final sentence ('personal development at $ %'). Additionally, the comparison between the two charts could be more precise; while you mention the increase in property buying, ensuring all figures are transcribed correctly is essential for a higher band. Overall, the response covers all requirements of the task well.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and an overview. You use cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'However', 'In terms of', and 'Conversely' to guide the reader through the data. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two different sets of information. While the flow is generally good, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing of categories could be smoother. The structure is sufficient to ensure the information is presented in a coherent manner throughout the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'illustrate', 'primary motivations', 'constitutes', and 'minimal growth'. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'social contract' instead of 'social contacts' and the typo '$ %'. While you attempt to use a variety of reporting verbs and descriptors, the vocabulary is somewhat standard. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and ensure that technical terms are spelled correctly and used in the right context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'While social contract registered a 15% increase' and 'Travel represent the highest number of primary motivations at 33%'. However, there are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Travel represent', 'teacher observed') and punctuation inconsistencies. These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and ensuring consistent verb tenses would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
