Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the development of the task. While you have attempted to describe the pie charts, the information provided is fragmented and lacks a clear, comprehensive overview of the data. Several key trends are mentioned, but the lack of detail and the failure to reach the required length mean that the response is underdeveloped. To improve, ensure you provide a clear summary of the main features and support your descriptions with accurate data points from the charts, ensuring you meet the minimum length requirement to fully address all parts of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into short paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover' and 'Meanwhile', they are often used incorrectly or in a way that does not clearly link the ideas. The referencing is also unclear; for example, it is difficult to follow what 'the proportion was surged' refers to. To improve, focus on using cohesive devices more naturally to connect sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, central topic that flows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which hinders the clarity of the report. Phrases like 'the explanation by the tutors' and 'the percentile was approximately similar' are misused. There is also a lack of variety in the language used to describe trends, with repetitive phrasing. To reach a higher band, you should work on using more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', 'fluctuated', or 'remained stable', and ensure that your word choices are contextually appropriate for an academic report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Examples include '7 percent students wants to learn' (subject-verb agreement), 'i was slightly decreased' (incorrect pronoun and tense), and 'the proportion was surged' (incorrect passive voice usage). The sentence structures are generally simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and practice constructing more complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions to improve the flow and accuracy of your writing.
