Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a clear overview or accurately report the data. The description of the first chart is incomplete, as it mentions 'majority' and 'few' without providing the specific percentages shown in the visual. Furthermore, the analysis of the second chart contains significant inaccuracies; for example, the text claims travel decreased from 33% to 3%, which is not supported by the provided data. The report lacks a clear structure and fails to highlight the most significant trends effectively. To improve, ensure all data points are accurately transcribed and that a clear, concise overview is provided in the introduction or conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Meanwhile' and 'Furthermore', they are often used incorrectly or in a repetitive manner. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two charts. The paragraphing is present but does not effectively separate the different aspects of the data. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, logical focus that contributes to the overall report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'increase' and 'decrease'. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'By Contracts' instead of 'In contrast' and 'business work' which is not a standard collocation. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. To improve, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for trends, such as 'fluctuate', 'decline', 'climb', or 'remain stable', and ensure that terms are used in their correct context to enhance the clarity of your report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'The pie chart demonstrate' and 'Traveling have major decrease'. Additionally, there are errors in article usage, such as 'in britain' (should be capitalized) and 'its an huge difference'. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms.
