The pie charts below show responses by teachers of foreign languages in Britain to a survey concerning why their students are learning a foreign language. The first chart shows the main reason for learning a foreign language. The second chart shows how many teachers felt that there has been a recent change in the reason.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The pie charts illustrated the comparison between the prevalent reason and the recent change in learning foreign language trend. It presented seven distinct factors including foreign partner, social contacts, personal development, travel, general interest, buying property overseas and for business and work purpose.

Overall, teachers reported travelling as a dominant factor. Whereas, foreign partner projected a negligible amount of proportion. Looking at the recent changed in the trend demostratred another category, no change. Meanwhile, the travelling sharply declined and buying property overseas expected to less than double.

As per the reported projections of teachers, travelling expected to be the leading reason that is enforcing individuals to learn foreign language, which is around 33% and business and work followed by 26%. Meanwhile foreign partner cateogory projected the proportion of 3%. Personal development and social contacts are the causes that followed similar pattern of 7%. However, general interest of people showed the proportion of merely 5%.

Turning to recent changes reported, travelling faced a dramatic decline and drops to 3% and business and work cause someway behind at 19%. In contrast, 15% no change predicted and buying property overseas increased marginally and stood at 34%. Personal development and forgein partner cateogories constituted 4%. While social contacts slighltly increased and get almost double, projected 15%. General interest factor rose by only 1% .
