The pie charts below show responses by teachers of foreign languages in Britain to a survey concerning why their students are learning a foreign language. The first chart shows the main reason for learning a foreign language. The second chart shows how many teachers felt that there has been a recent change in the reason.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The pie charts illustrate responses by teachers in Britian to a survey for the reason their students are learning foreign language. It is clearly seen from the charts that most of the students has been learning foreign language for travel and there is increase of students studying foreign language for buying property overseas.

Firstly, students has been spending time to learn foreign language for different reason. The chart shows that reasons include highest percentage for travel which is 33 percent, while least percentage is 3 percent for foreign partner. Similarly, 5 percent for general interest and personal development has same percentage to social contacts which is 7 percent. The second highest percentage is for bussiness or work with 26 percent and buying overseas property with 19 percent.

Secondly, the reason has been evolved as the most students now studies foreign language for buying property overseas. On the other hand, only 3 percent is reason for travel which was highest percentage before. There is also new reason which is for no change which is about 15 percent. Other reason has quite similar fluctuation in the percentage as 4 percent for personal development, 4 percent for foreign partner, 6 percent for general interest.
