Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify several relevant categories and include figures, such as travel at 33% and business/work at 26%, and you notice that buying property overseas is associated with a recent increase. However, the report does not clearly describe both charts: it omits the important 19% figure for buying property as the most common reason and does not explain the second chart’s 15% reporting no change. Some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear: travel falls to 3% in the increase chart, but this is not a decline over time in the same measure. The response is also 19 words below the required minimum. Add a clear overview and accurately distinguish the two charts’ measures to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The response has some basic organisation: it begins with travel and foreign partners, then groups personal development and social contacts, and ends with travel and business. This gives the reader a rough sense of the categories being compared. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the two charts are not consistently distinguished, and the final paragraph repeats travel and business figures already mentioned. Linking phrases such as “At the end” and “For instance” do not clearly show the relationship between the data. Use a short overview followed by paragraphs that compare the first chart and the recent-change chart, and use precise references such as “in the second chart” to make connections clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentage,” “decline,” “increase,” and “reasons,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, word choice and spelling are often inaccurate or imprecise, which makes parts of the report difficult to interpret. For example, “teachers are discussing on lwarning enhlish” is not a suitable description of what the charts show, while “social contracts” appears to mean “social contacts.” Phrases such as “most peak percentage” and “a very shocking” are also unnatural for an academic report. Aim for standard data-reporting expressions such as “accounted for,” “was the most frequently reported reason,” and “the proportion reporting an increase.” Proofread spelling and choose neutral, precise language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt several sentence forms and communicate some comparisons, for example, “Personal development and social contracts are the reasons with only 7 percentage.” However, sentence control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries sometimes obscure the intended meaning. In “the change occur in this is it decline,” the verbs and clause structure are not controlled; “travel and business which are the highest in the range” is also an incomplete sentence. The response relies mainly on short, simple statements and does not yet show reliable control of more varied structures. Practise complete comparison sentences, such as “The figure for travel was 33%, while teachers reporting a recent increase for this reason accounted for 3%.”
