Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify several important features, including travel as the leading reason (33%), business/work at 26%, and buying property overseas as the largest reported increase (34%). However, the overview is unclear: “there is a big increased seen” does not accurately explain the comparison, and the second chart reports teachers’ views of recent change, not a direct increase from 19% to 34%. You also misstate the figures for general interest and personal development as having increased by 1%; the chart gives 6% and 4% respectively, without showing their original values. Several categories and the 15% reporting no change are omitted. The response is 130 words, below the required 150, which limits coverage further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing each chart. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “which is followed by” help signal comparisons. However, progression is weakened by the unclear overview and by abrupt transitions, including “After taking a quick glance on pie chart.” The final paragraph lists selected figures without clearly distinguishing the second chart’s measure from the first chart’s reasons. Some punctuation and spacing also make the flow harder to follow, for example “3 percent.personal development.” To improve, group related figures systematically and use clear links to show which chart and measure each sentence describes.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “survey,” “percentage,” “most common reason,” and “increased,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors reduce precision: “responces,” “forerign,” “parter,” “incriment,” and “generat interest” are noticeable, while “a big increased” is not a natural expression. “Traveling” is understandable, but “travel” or “travelling” would fit the category more accurately. Aim to use precise reporting language such as “accounted for,” “was the most frequently cited reason,” and “teachers reported an increase.” Proofreading spelling and choosing standard chart-description phrases would make the information easier to interpret.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and some basic statements communicate the figures, such as “foreign partner is the least around 3 percent.” However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships unclear. For example, “travel learning a foreign is very important for students” lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “students learning a foreign language” needs a verb such as “are.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “personal development and social contacts has the similar result 7 percent.” Use complete clauses with accurate verb forms—for example, “Travel was the most common reason, at 33%”—and check punctuation between separate points.
