Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You cover both charts and identify several important figures, including travel as the leading main reason (33%) and buying property overseas as the largest reported recent increase (34%). However, the report does not accurately or fully represent the data. In the first chart, business/work is 26%, but it is omitted, and buying property overseas is 19%; the overview also fails to highlight this contrast. In the second chart, you describe the figures as reasons for growth, although the chart includes a “no change” category and reports teachers’ views of recent changes. Some figures are grouped unclearly, and the 3% travel figure is not stated. A clearer overview and more precise coverage of the key comparisons would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two charts. This helps the reader follow the broad organisation, and phrases such as “In the second piechart” signal a shift between data sets. However, the overview is vague and largely repeats the task rather than summarising the main contrasts. Within the detail paragraphs, information is sometimes presented as a long sequence of rankings, and links such as “After all of these” and “along with this” do not clearly show how the figures relate. Grouping the largest values and the smaller values more deliberately, while using clearer comparisons, would improve progression and make cohesion less mechanical.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “highest percentage,” “accounted for,” and “similar percentage,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “increasement,” “population of learners,” and “reason of growth in population.” Repeated use of “reason,” “percentage,” and “piechart” also makes the report less precise. There are spelling errors, including “buyimg” and “increasemnent,” and “tutors” is not the appropriate term for the teachers in the task. Aim for accurate, natural collocations such as “reported increase in language learning” and vary the language used to describe proportions and comparisons.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt longer sentences and use some linking structures, but grammatical control is inconsistent. The opening has subject–verb disagreement (“The two piecharts illustrates”) and an awkward clause structure, while “teachers feels” also has incorrect agreement. Articles and plurals are often missing or misused in phrases such as “learning foreign language” and “the reason in the first number.” Some sentences join several comparisons without clear grammatical control, and punctuation is inconsistent, for example “Meanwhile, buyimg” and “34%.Business/ works.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then build longer comparisons with controlled clauses and consistent punctuation.
