Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main pattern in the first chart: travel is the leading reason at 33%, while learning for a foreign partner is the smallest category. You also note that buying property overseas is the largest reported recent increase. However, the report does not clearly distinguish the second chart’s measure of teachers reporting an increase from the reasons themselves, and it omits the 15% who reported no change. There are also data inaccuracies: general interest is 5%, not 6%, in the first chart, and travel accounts for 3% of reported increases, which is not stated. Develop the overview and compare the two charts more precisely, including the key contrast between travel’s current prominence and property’s recent growth.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an opening overview followed by a paragraph for each chart. This helps the reader locate the main information. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “On the first hand” is not an appropriate transition, while “After the changes” suggests a sequence of events rather than a comparison of survey results. The overview also combines several ideas in a long sentence, making the relationship between current reasons and reported increases less clear. Group the figures into meaningful comparisons and use straightforward links such as “By contrast” or “Regarding reported increases” to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “proportion,” “travel,” “business,” and “social contacts,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning awkward: “learning perspective,” “purchasing property in abroad,” and “foreign frieds” are examples. “Most of peoples” and “learn for” are also not natural ways to describe the chart categories. Spelling errors such as “buisness” further reduce precision. Aim for accurate, repeated chart language rather than forcing less natural phrases; terms such as “the proportion of teachers,” “learning for work,” and “buying property overseas” fit this task well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in clauses describing the data. For example, “the teacher report that most of peoples learn” has problems with article use, number agreement, and verb form; “now their was highest proportion” also contains an incorrect verb and an unclear sentence structure. Several sentences omit articles or use awkward plural forms, and punctuation around figures is inconsistent. Practise building accurate comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “Travel was the most common reason, at 33%,” and “Teachers reported the largest increase for buying property overseas, at 34%.”
