Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several key figures accurately: travel leads the first chart at 33%, business/work follows at 26%, and buying property overseas is the largest category in the second chart at 34%. You also include the 15% reporting no change. However, the overview is unclear and partly contradictory: it first says travel is the most common reason, then says buying property is the leading reason, without distinguishing the first chart from the reported increase. Some details are incomplete, including the 5% for general interest in the first chart and 6% in the second. Clarify what each chart measures, then summarise the main contrast and support it with accurate, selected figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two charts. This makes the information reasonably easy to follow, and phrases such as “According to the first chart” help signal the shift between datasets. However, the overview does not clearly distinguish the most common learning reason from the reason showing the greatest reported increase, which weakens progression. Some linking is mechanical, and the final “In addition” sentence feels detached from the paragraph’s comparison. Use a concise overview that contrasts the charts, and group related figures consistently so each paragraph develops one clear point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart-reporting vocabulary, including “accounting for,” “made up,” “reported,” and “the least popular.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the report less precise, such as “repsonse,” “Bartain,” “foreigh,” “heaving,” and “siginificant.” Some phrases are also unnatural or inaccurate: “the percentage of the teacher in crunetly change” and “was accounted for” do not express the chart information clearly. Choose standard terms such as “teachers,” “students,” and “reported an increase,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish a main reason from a reason that has recently increased.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer structures, including “According to the second chart, buying property … accounting for 34%” and a sentence contrasting social contacts with business/work. However, control is uneven, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “Buying property overseas was accounted for 19%” uses an incorrect passive construction; write “accounted for 19%.” The opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “Overall, travel was the most common reason … However, buying property was the leading reason” needs clearer qualification to show that these refer to different charts. Review articles, sentence boundaries, and verb patterns, and aim for accurate, complete sentences before adding complexity.
