Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The report identifies the main patterns accurately: travel leads the first chart at 33%, foreign partners are least common at 3%, and buying overseas property is the largest reported recent increase at 34%, with travel lowest at 3%. The overview makes these comparisons clear, and the response covers both charts. It also includes several supporting figures, such as business/work at 26% in the first chart and 19% in the second. However, some details are omitted or unclear: the first chart’s 19% for buying property overseas is not reported, and the second chart’s 6% for general interest is missing. The phrase “social contact is just improve” also makes that figure difficult to interpret. More complete, precise coverage would strengthen the report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable report structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs describing each chart. This gives the reader a generally logical route through the information, and transitions such as “Overall,” “In addition,” and “In the second pie chart” help signal movement between points. However, the body paragraphs often place several figures in a single long sequence, so comparisons are not always easy to follow. For example, the final paragraph moves from property to business, social contacts, no change, foreign partners, personal development, and travel with little punctuation or grouping. Some linking is also mechanical. Grouping the figures more deliberately and using clearer sentence boundaries would make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses relevant chart vocabulary, including “most common reason,” “accounted for,” “highest share,” and “percentage,” and it attempts to vary descriptions of proportions. However, the range and control are limited, with repeated use of “share” and “having,” and several inaccurate or unclear choices. “Answer by instructs” and “recent variation in reason” do not express the chart’s meaning naturally, while “social contact is just improve” is difficult to understand. Spelling errors such as “foriegn,” “generl,” and “persent” are noticeable and reduce precision. Aim for standard collocations for describing data and check spelling carefully; this will make the information easier to interpret.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

There are attempts at both simple and more complex sentences, and the overview communicates its comparisons clearly. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, sentence construction, and agreement. For example, “travel is accounted for highest share” needs a more accurate verb pattern, while “the second one provide data on that how many educatore feels” contains agreement and clause-structure problems. In “social contacts and personal development having same persent,” the sentence lacks a finite verb and an article. Punctuation is also weak in the final paragraph, where several clauses run together. Practise building complete sentences around one comparison at a time, then check verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries.
