Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant figures, including travel as the leading initial reason (33%), buying property overseas as the largest reported increase (34%), and 15% reporting no change. However, the report does not clearly explain that the charts measure different things: the first gives the most common reason, while the second records teachers’ views of recent increases or no change. Phrases such as “in first survey” and “in second” incorrectly suggest a direct before-and-after comparison, so the 33% and 3% travel figures are presented as a fall. The overview is also limited, and some details are repeated, such as the change in general interest. Make the charts’ distinct purposes explicit and summarise their main contrasts before selecting supporting figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves through several categories and ends with a general statement about changes in learning purposes. However, it lacks a clear overall progression, and the opening does not establish the key distinction between the charts. The repeated pattern “from…to…” and “in first survey…in second” makes the report read like a sequence of comparisons, even though the charts do not show two time points. Linking is also sometimes awkward or repetitive, as in “If we talk about personal development” and “As compare to 1st survey.” Group the information into a clear introduction, an overview, and logically organised detail paragraphs, using references that accurately distinguish the two charts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “foreign partner,” “buying property overseas,” and “personal development,” so the reader can identify the categories being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the 2nd major variation occurs when 19% increased to 34%” treats the figures as a change over time, while “percentage enhance” and “personal interest upgrade” are unnatural descriptions. There are also spelling errors such as “unbeleiveable,” “buisness,” and “fromm.” Use precise reporting language such as “accounted for,” “was reported as,” and “the largest share,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer structures, but sentence patterns are limited and errors are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “If compare both of them” lacks a correctly formed clause, and “As compare to 1st survey” is also grammatically incomplete. Verb forms and agreement are inconsistent in “percentage vary” and “the second pie chart also give information.” Articles and sentence boundaries are often missing or mishandled, as in “reason people are learning foreign languages. If compare,” while punctuation around “don’t” is incorrect. These problems make some relationships between figures unclear. Practise accurate simple reporting sentences first, then add controlled comparisons, checking subject–verb agreement, clause structure, articles, and punctuation.
