Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several important features, including travel as the leading main reason (33%), buying property overseas as the largest reported recent increase (34%), and foreign partners as the smallest main reason (3%). However, some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear: business/work did not decrease, since the charts show separate measures rather than change over time, and the second chart reports 3% for travel, not simply that it was the smallest without noting the 4% figures for foreign partners and personal development. The overview also says other reasons increased slightly, which is not supported by the data. Covering both charts is a useful start, but the key patterns need clearer, more accurate explanation and distinction between the two surveys.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an opening, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two charts, so there is some organisation and the reader can identify the intended topics. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because comparisons are joined repeatedly with “meanwhile” and “subsequently,” sometimes without a clear relationship. The overview’s “other are increase slightly” is vague, and the final sentence, “other are decrease consreuvacy,” does not communicate a clear point. Group the figures by meaningful contrasts, use one clear topic sentence for each chart, and make each comparison explicit. More accurate referencing and less repetitive linking would make the report easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant chart vocabulary such as “percentage,” “highest,” “smallest,” and “accounted for,” showing an attempt to describe proportions and rankings. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, including “had decrease,” “remain at a same,” and “the decrease a little.” Frequent spelling problems—such as “intrest,” “trvel,” and “consreuvacy”—also make parts of the report difficult to understand. Choose precise reporting verbs and use them consistently: for example, describe a figure as “accounted for” a share, or say teachers “reported” a reason. Proofreading spelling and avoiding repeated, uncertain phrases would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There are attempts to form longer sentences and compare several figures, but control of sentence structure is weak. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in phrases such as “the pie charts illustrates,” “business/work had decrease,” and “other are increase slightly.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “travel has a highest” and “remain at a same percentage.” Several sentences run together, with punctuation missing after linking words, which makes relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and past-tense forms, and use full stops to separate comparisons.
