Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both charts and identify several important features, including travel as the leading main reason (33%), business/work at 26%, and buying property overseas as the largest reported recent increase (34%). You also compare changes for travel, work, property and social contacts. However, the overview is not fully accurate: it calls business/work the second and third biggest share, although property is third, and it describes several categories as the least without distinguishing their values. More importantly, the second chart reports teachers’ views of recent increases, not a direct before-and-after change in the reasons; phrases such as “Travel dropped” therefore overstate what the data shows. Clarify this distinction and summarise the main contrast more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, details from the first chart, and a final paragraph about the second chart. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression is weakened by repetition and some unclear links. The overview repeats “learning the foreign language” several times, while the final paragraph begins “Looking into the details reported by teachers” without clearly explaining that the second chart concerns teachers reporting recent increases. The phrase “no changes made the significant increased recorded as 15%” is also difficult to follow, and “Meanwhile all the other categories” leads into a claim that is not accurate. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each comparison explicitly to the relevant chart.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt task-appropriate vocabulary such as “proportion,” “account for,” “stood at,” “climbed,” and “declined,” which helps describe figures and movement. However, the range is limited by repeated wording and frequent spelling errors, including “learing,” “forgin,” “bussines,” and “catogories.” Some collocations are also unnatural: “the notable reason” and “the second notable trend” are less precise than “the most common reason” and “the second-largest share.” In addition, “dropped dramatically” suggests a measured change over time, which the second chart does not establish. Aim for accurate chart-reporting terms and check spelling carefully; precise vocabulary will make the comparisons clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some simple and compound sentence forms, and several figures are presented in understandable clauses, for example, “Travel account for the highest share stood at 33%.” However, this sentence combines two structures and has an incorrect verb form; it would be clearer as “Travel accounted for the highest share, at 33%.” Other errors include “business and work had became,” “the figures was 19%,” and “personal development fell,” where agreement, tense or sentence construction is not controlled. Missing spaces after punctuation and inconsistent comma use also affect readability. Practise forming accurate past-tense reporting sentences and vary them with controlled comparisons, such as “whereas” clauses, before attempting longer structures.
