Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify both charts and include several relevant figures, such as travel at 33%, business/work at 26%, and buying property overseas at 34% in the recent-increase chart. However, the overview is largely a restatement of what each chart shows rather than a summary of the main patterns. Several comparisons are inaccurate or unclear: travel is reported as falling from 30%, although the first chart gives 33%, and the second chart’s 3% for travel is not clearly stated. You also describe business/work as having “decreased,” though the chart reports teachers’ views of recent increases, not a direct change between two measurements. The response therefore covers the task only partially; highlight the leading categories and accurately distinguish increase from no change.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic three-part structure: an introduction and overview, a paragraph listing the first chart’s figures, and a final paragraph about the second chart. This gives the reader some organisation, and transitions such as “To begin with” and “Moreover” signal movement between sections. However, the overview does not establish a useful progression, and the final paragraph becomes a long sequence of figures and claims joined by commas. Some links are unclear, particularly “who are buying property overseas has increased” and “travel people have decreased their learning,” which make it difficult to follow the intended comparisons. Group the most important categories together and use clearer sentence boundaries and references to each chart’s measure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “percentage,” “business or work,” “social contacts,” and “personal development,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “persons who are indulged in business,” “travel people,” and “has a increase.” Spelling errors—including “languaage,” “commomreason,” “intrest,” and “lerning”—also make the writing less clear and reduce control. Aim for precise chart-reporting phrases such as “the proportion of teachers citing…” and “teachers reported an increase in…”. Check spelling carefully and avoid describing learners as “travel people”; name the reason itself instead.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors often make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. For example, “The first chart illustrate” has subject–verb disagreement, while “the percentage of teachers report” uses an incorrect verb form. The opening sentence also has an unnecessary comma after “illustrate,” and “who are buying property overseas has increased” has a faulty clause structure. Several sentences rely on lists rather than clearly formed comparisons, limiting the range of accurate structures. Practise a reliable pattern such as “The chart shows that X was the most common reason,” then use accurate past-tense reporting and complete sentences to compare the categories.
