Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify both charts and include several relevant figures, such as travel at 33% and buying property overseas at 34% in the second chart. However, the report does not provide a clear overview of the main patterns, and some data are misreported: property buying in the first chart is 19%, not “ninety percent,” while the second chart’s 15% figure is “no change,” not social contacts. The response also omits the important contrast that travel leads the first chart, whereas buying property overseas leads reported increases. At 113 words, it is 37 words below the required minimum; 40 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop a concise overview and accurately compare the key categories.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response follows the broad order of the charts, first discussing the main reasons and then the reported changes, so the reader can recognise the intended structure. However, it is presented as one continuous paragraph, with no clear overview or paragraph breaks to separate the two sets of information. The sequence within each chart is also difficult to follow: figures are listed without a consistent comparison, and phrases such as “but the most least increasing percentage” do not clearly connect the point to the data. Use an introduction, a short overview, and separate body paragraphs for the charts. Group the leading and least common categories, and use clear links such as “by contrast” where appropriate.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-relevant terms, including “pie chart,” “percentage,” “personal development,” and “general interest,” which show an attempt to describe survey data. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear. “Were occurred” is not a natural way to report a percentage, and “property buying by overseas” is an inaccurate rendering of “buying property overseas.” “Most least increasing” also combines conflicting expressions. Spelling errors such as “britain,” “foregin,” and “piechart” further reduce accuracy. Build a small set of precise reporting phrases—such as “accounted for,” “was the most frequently reported reason,” and “teachers reported an increase”—and check spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The response attempts both short statements and longer comparisons, but sentence structures are mostly simple and control is inconsistent. Several sentences lack a clear grammatical relationship between the subject and the reported figure, as in “Seven percent personal development is occured due to most common reason.” There are also problems with verb forms and agreement in “Five percent general interest were occured” and “Thirty three percent and the most highest in the pie chart and its travel.” Missing sentence boundaries and punctuation, especially where the introduction runs directly into the first data statement, make the text harder to read. Practise complete subject–verb sentences, for example, “Travel was the most common reason, at 33%,” and use accurate past-tense reporting consistently.
