Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main patterns accurately: travel is the leading reason in the first chart, foreign partners the least common, and buying property overseas has the highest reported increase while travel has the lowest. Most figures are also reported correctly. However, the business/work figure is given as 28% rather than 26%, and the overview is brief and does not clearly compare the overall distributions or explain that the second chart includes a “no change” category. The report covers both charts, but some details are presented as a list rather than selected and compared to show the key contrasts. A clearer overview and more precise reporting of the categories would make the response more complete and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two charts. This helps the reader follow the broad subject and distinguish the data sets. However, progression within the detail paragraphs is uneven, particularly in the second chart, where “no change,” social contacts, travel, and the remaining categories are joined in a crowded sequence. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand,” “Looking in the figures,” and “Likewise” are used, but some do not clearly express the relationship between the figures. Group related values and use clearer comparisons—for example, contrasting the leading reasons with the smaller categories—to improve the flow and reduce list-like reporting.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant chart-reporting vocabulary, including “illustrates,” “least reason,” “growth,” and “equal amount,” and the reader can generally identify the categories being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “the reporting in the increment in reasons” and “growth is happen.” Spelling errors—including “intreasted,” “increament,” “coantacts,” and “developement”—are noticeable and sometimes slow understanding. Aim for precise, natural phrases used in data reports, such as “teachers reported an increase” or “the proportion citing travel.” Check spelling carefully and avoid repeating “reason” and “growth” where more exact wording is available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, and verb forms. For example, “the most increament is done” and “3% growth is happen for travel” do not form accurate grammatical patterns, while “two catagories contains” has a subject–verb agreement error. Some sentences also lack clear structure, as in “no change and social contacts is 15% and 3% growth is happen for travel.” Use straightforward comparative structures such as “Travel accounted for 33%” and “Teachers reported a 3% increase for travel.” More consistent control of articles, plurals, and verb forms would make the data easier to understand.
