Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the two charts and give an overview, noting that buying property overseas is the leading reason in the second chart. However, the report only partially covers the information and some key details are inaccurate or unclear. In the first chart, travel is the largest category at 33%, not business/work; business/work is 26%. The statement that “the trend changes over the time” also treats the second chart as a direct trend comparison, although it reports teachers’ views about recent increases, including 15% who reported no change. You mention few figures and leave several categories unexplained. To strengthen the report, accurately summarise the main features of both charts and compare the most notable responses without implying unsupported changes over time.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview and two detail paragraphs. This gives the reader some sense of how the report is organised. However, progression is limited because the final paragraph stops after naming buying property and business/work, without completing the comparison or covering other important categories. Linking phrases such as “Overall” and “According to first pie chart” help signal sections, but “This trend hange over the tears” is unclear and does not establish a reliable connection between the charts. Develop each paragraph around a clear purpose: first summarise the main pattern, then report and compare the key figures from each chart. Clearer references to what each chart measures would also improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “survey results,” “percentages,” “business/work,” and “buying property.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make parts of the report difficult to interpret. For example, “the mindset of students” is not a natural way to describe their reasons, and “the trend changes over the time” is imprecise for a chart reporting teachers’ views. Errors such as “proeprty,” “forwign,” and “hange” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise chart-reporting language, such as “the most commonly cited reason” and “teachers reporting a recent increase,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid repeating “reason” when a more specific expression is available.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentences, including “Overall, it is clear that…” and “According to first pie chart…,” but control is inconsistent. Missing articles and awkward sentence patterns appear in phrases such as “majority of students” and “According to first pie chart.” The sentence beginning “The trend changes over the time” is also difficult to follow, while the final sentence is incomplete as a comparison: “followed by business/work” gives no percentage or finished detail. Subject–verb agreement and plural forms need attention, as in “percentage of teacher.” Practise accurate article use and complete comparative sentences, for example, “Buying property was cited by 34% of teachers, compared with 19% for business/work.”
