Student answer (Band 6.0)

In modern times, the issue of work has become highly controversial. There are those who say that regard work as the most essential thing in life and have little interest in anything else. However, other people believe that more enthusiastic about their hobbies and leisure interests than their occupations.

Generally speaking, there are two main reasons why people believe that regard work as the most important thing in life and have little interest in anything else. Perhaps the main reason why people are in favor of this idea is because they need money for her family and her wishes. For example, many people don't have permanent financial balance, because of this individuals go to the job every day. A farther point in favor of some people like jobs. When people take rest they don't like this and that's why people go to the jobs. Moreover, when people go job they can earn more money and they completed her and families hobbies.

Despite these arguments, there is also a case for the idea that are more enthusiastic about their hobbies and leisure interests than their jobs. The main reason why people think this is a good idea is because they don't like others people rules regulation, that's why individuals don't like job. They prepare more enthusiastic about their hobbies and leisure. However, some people like tour and they support her free time, because they don't need any kind of jobs.

In conclusion, it must be said that work has become a complex issue with no easy solutions. Having considered both sides of the issue, I would argue regard work as the most important thing in life and have little interest in anything else. When people go to the jobs they will have money, than hey bye something new and competed her and families hobbies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides an opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For instance, the argument for work is primarily focused on earning money, and the argument for hobbies is somewhat vague, mentioning 'rules regulation' without clear elaboration. The ideas are not fully extended or supported with specific, relevant evidence, which keeps the response at a lower band. The conclusion restates the position but lacks a sophisticated summary of the main points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'A farther point in favor' and 'Despite these arguments' are used, but the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. Referencing is also problematic; for example, the use of 'her' to refer to individuals or families is inconsistent and confusing. The progression of ideas is present but lacks the fluidity required for a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'job', 'work', and 'money'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'permanent financial balance' instead of 'financial stability' and 'completed her and families hobbies'. The student attempts to use some academic vocabulary, but the lack of precision and the recurring errors in word forms (e.g., 'prepared' instead of 'prefer') hinder the clarity of the message. A wider range of vocabulary is needed to express ideas more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, pronoun usage (e.g., 'her' used for plural or general subjects), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary articles and prepositions. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, such as 'the main reason why people think this is a good idea is because they don't like others people rules regulation'. The control of basic grammar is insufficient for a higher score.
