Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation of why people focus on work is repetitive and lacks depth, relying on vague references like 'Tata companies'. The arguments regarding hobbies are also somewhat generic. To achieve a higher band, you need to provide more detailed, logical explanations and specific, well-integrated examples that clearly illustrate your points. The conclusion is a bit brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the use of linking words is occasionally repetitive or slightly unnatural (e.g., 'To explain' is used twice in a similar way). Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'when people can try without their work', where the meaning is ambiguous. Improving the variety of your cohesive devices would enhance the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'work life', 'important thing', and 'earning incomes'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'energetic about their hobbies' (enthusiastic would be more accurate) and 'less burnout' (which is grammatically awkward). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or varied vocabulary limits the score. You should aim to incorporate more topic-specific collocations and synonyms to express your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'if employee may have'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'people main focus on work'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often marred by errors in tense or word order. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and article usage before attempting more complex structures.
