Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both viewpoints and provides a personal opinion, though the development is somewhat limited. The arguments regarding work-life balance are relevant but remain superficial. For instance, the example of research in New Delhi is vague and lacks a clear connection to the prompt's core argument. The personal opinion is present but could be more explicitly integrated throughout the essay rather than just appearing in the conclusion. To improve, you should expand on your ideas with more specific evidence or logical reasoning to ensure the discussion is fully developed rather than just stated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Whereas some of people' at the start of a sentence or 'Such as which humans increased'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the logical flow is hindered by awkward phrasing. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'To begin with' and 'Furthermore', the overall progression of ideas lacks sophistication. Improving the variety and accuracy of your cohesive devices will significantly enhance the readability of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'give more prefers ton' and 'best living life'. Some phrases are repetitive, and the use of 'some of people' and 'some of human' is unnatural. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic of work-life balance, while also ensuring that your word forms (e.g., 'paintings' vs 'painting') are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences often contain grammatical errors. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'most of people are give' and 'work are prominent'. Additionally, there are errors with articles and prepositions throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of grammatical errors distracts the reader and limits the range of structures demonstrated. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be a beneficial next step to improve your accuracy.
