Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both viewpoints, the arguments are severely underdeveloped and lack logical depth. The introduction is repetitive, and the body paragraphs fail to provide meaningful analysis or relevant examples. The 'survey' mentioned is vague and lacks context, and the reference to a specific professor is poorly integrated and unclear. Because the response is 59 words short and lacks sufficient expansion on the prompt's requirements, it does not fully address the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a logical flow. Paragraphing is present but the internal structure of the paragraphs is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often misused, such as 'Initiating with the viewpoint to elaborate' and 'On the contrary who hold the people another'. These phrases do not effectively link ideas or guide the reader through the argument. The transition between the introduction, body, and conclusion is abrupt, and the lack of clear topic sentences makes it difficult to follow the writer's progression of thought.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is limited and often used incorrectly. Phrases like '72.3% of masses' and 'renowed a named has takashi kalaves' demonstrate a lack of control over word choice and collocation. There is significant repetition of basic vocabulary, and the essay relies on awkward phrasing that obscures the intended meaning. The student struggles to express complex ideas due to a restricted range of vocabulary, and there are frequent errors in word formation and usage that impede the reader's understanding of the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often distort meaning. Sentence structures are largely simple or poorly constructed, such as 'this essay will compare and contrast along with the viewpoint will be elucidated subsequently.' There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'some people is most important thing,' and incorrect use of articles and prepositions. Complex sentence attempts are largely unsuccessful and contain significant errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing capital letters and misplaced commas, making the text difficult to read.
