Student answer (Band 5.0)

There has two types of people some who is totally sincere with there jobs they have little interest in another activities. They doing there work all time . But on the another hand some people are more enthusiastic about there hobbies and leisure interests than their jobs . These types of people has a lot of interest in activities.

The people who is sincere only with their jobs and has a little bit interest in another activities they enjoy there life less because they were all time exhausted with there job pressure and all time work hobby is very important for the healthy mind . But our life demand the jobs because to spent a peaceful life when we have a money . But it's not good when we cannot participate in another activities

Some people always doing another activities for there enjoyment they cannot doing there jobs they have no interest in it this is not good thing because all time enjoy there life and can't interested in their jobs its not beneficial.

For my own perspective we should doing both things. We sincere with their jobs and participate in another activities . Our minds also demand relax during the pressure of heavy work. We should participate in another activities in sports etc. we should have a specific hobby along sincere with their jobs. We should set our time table which specific time for their hobbies and specific time for the jobs . Then we enjoy our life .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, which meets the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For example, the discussion on work-life balance is somewhat circular, stating that people should do both without providing concrete examples or deeper analysis of why this balance is beneficial. The arguments are presented in a very simplistic manner, lacking the depth required for a higher band score. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with specific examples or logical reasoning rather than repeating the same general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps the overall structure. However, the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often repetitive (e.g., 'some people', 'these types of people', 'but'). There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt or mechanical. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. Improving the use of transition signals like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'on the other hand' would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. You frequently use simple words like 'good', 'bad', 'things', and 'jobs'. There are also persistent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'sincere with their jobs' instead of 'dedicated to their careers' or 'doing another activities' instead of 'engaging in other activities'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. You should focus on learning collocations and more precise academic vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede the flow of reading. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'These types of people has', 'some who is'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'we should doing'), and missing articles or incorrect prepositions. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and misuse of commas. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, verb tense consistency, and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures.
