Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 172 words. This significantly impacts the development of the response. While you attempt to address both sides of the argument and state an opinion, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth. The introduction is repetitive and confusing, and the body paragraph is incomplete, failing to provide a balanced discussion or a conclusion. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed examples and ensure you address all parts of the prompt fully, including a clear conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the logical progression is hindered by the lack of a conclusion and the abrupt ending. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand' and 'For instance', but the overall flow is disjointed. The introduction is particularly problematic, as the sentences are repetitive and do not clearly set up the essay's direction. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would help improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'important thing in life' and 'some people'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'accommodating' instead of 'accommodation' and 'social department' which is vague. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and avoid repeating the same words within short distances. Expanding your range of synonyms will make your writing more engaging and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains several grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with sentence structure, such as the run-on sentence in the introduction and incorrect verb forms like 'provides fulfill'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement. Proofreading for minor errors like 'theitr' (their) and ensuring correct preposition usage will significantly improve the accuracy of your work.
