Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you introduce both perspectives, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. You have not provided a full discussion or a clear, supported opinion as requested by the prompt. Because the response is unfinished and lacks the required length, it fails to address the task fully. To improve, you must ensure you complete all parts of the prompt and meet the word count requirement to allow for sufficient development of your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, with an introduction and separate paragraphs for the two viewpoints. However, the abrupt ending makes it impossible to assess the overall progression of the argument. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'While' and 'For them', but the flow is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is cut off, which disrupts the coherence of the piece. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and using a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

You demonstrate a basic range of vocabulary, such as 'competent', 'efficient', and 'rejuvenate'. However, there are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'workoholic life' (workaholic), 'profession task' (professional tasks), and 'being curious in life'. Some phrases are slightly unnatural, such as 'keeping hobbies alive'. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey basic meaning but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary and focusing on correct collocations will help improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including missing articles ('make person', 'doing profession task'), incorrect pluralization ('both set of opinions'), and punctuation issues. The sentence structure is generally understandable, but the errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. The incomplete final sentence also impacts the grammatical control of the text. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and ensuring that all sentences are fully formed and punctuated correctly.
