Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 138 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the prompt asks to discuss both attitudes and provide an opinion, the discussion is extremely superficial and lacks the necessary depth, examples, or evidence to support the arguments. The ideas are presented in a fragmented manner, and the position is not clearly articulated or sustained throughout the text. Due to the severe under-length and the lack of development of the required task components, the response falls into the lower band range.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no paragraphing, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the awkward transition 'In my opinion the facts about the anything else'. The relationship between sentences is often unclear, and the lack of logical sequencing makes the overall argument difficult to track. The response does not demonstrate the ability to organize information coherently, which is a requirement for higher bands.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'lower class public' and 'feel like burden on it' are unnatural and demonstrate a lack of control over word choice and collocation. There is significant repetition of basic words, and the student struggles to express complex ideas due to a restricted range of vocabulary. The errors in word formation and usage frequently impede the reader's understanding of the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other have time'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'My hobby that watching technology video which help me'). These errors are pervasive and often distort the meaning of the sentences. The lack of complex structures and the high frequency of basic grammatical mistakes indicate a low level of control over English syntax.
