Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. While the arguments regarding financial stability and stress reduction are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. The conclusion is present but brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples—for instance, explaining how a specific hobby might improve professional performance—to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'In addition', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the misuse of 'However' at the start of a sentence in the conclusion. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'wark', 'mare', 'impartont', 'achive', 'proffessional') and word choice issues (e.g., 'hash aut', 'happiery'). You rely on basic vocabulary, and while the meaning is usually clear, the lack of sophisticated or precise language prevents a higher score. Focusing on learning collocations and ensuring correct spelling of common academic terms will significantly improve your lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('people... follows hobbies'), article usage, and sentence fragments ('He achive his goal and also live life with of full confidence and respect. from society.'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not fully impede communication. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing verbs or incorrect prepositions.
