Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that work is most important part of life and not much interest in other activities. While others gave more importance to their hobbies and leisure activities. Both views have their own advantages but i believe people should balance their life in their hobbies and importantly in work.
First on the one hand some people consider their job as most important thing in life as it provides them a financial security achieve their goals for the future. People who are highly committed to their work have greater chances to gain better opportunities and promotion in their job. For example a person who gave extra time to their work and highly motivated for the growth of their company. He may get a better position and higher salary compare to other employees. For these reasons giving priority to work can be beneficial for those who have extra financial responsibilities.
On the other hand many people are more interested in their hobbies and spend their leisure time on other activities. People who spend their time on other things such as playing sports and video games can be great relaxation after a long busy day. This is important because working continuously without enough rest can cause stress and tiredness. Furthermore In my opinion neither work nor leisure should completely dominate a person's life. Although a successful career is important.
In conclusion some people focus mainly on their careers, whereas others prefer to spend more on hobbies and leisure. I believe that the best approach is to give reasonable importance to both work and personal life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding work-life balance is introduced in the conclusion rather than being fully integrated into the body paragraphs. While the prompt asks to discuss both attitudes, the explanation of why people prioritize hobbies is brief and lacks specific, well-developed examples compared to the work-focused paragraph. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that your personal opinion is clearly stated in the introduction and supported by a dedicated, well-reasoned paragraph, rather than just mentioning it briefly at the end of the second body paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'First on the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore'. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as starting a sentence with 'Furthermore In my opinion'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, the transition from discussing a general person to 'He' lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally will help improve the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'financial security', 'career', and 'leisure activities'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of slightly awkward phrasing, such as 'not much interest in other activities' instead of 'little interest'. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'gave more importance' instead of 'give'. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary and collocations to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and articles. For example, 'work is most important part' should be 'the most important part', and 'compare to other employees' should be 'compared to'. There are also issues with sentence fragments, such as 'For example a person who gave extra time to their work and highly motivated for the growth of their company.' This sentence lacks a main verb. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and ensuring every sentence has a clear main clause will significantly improve your accuracy.
