IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people regard work as the most important thing in life and have little interest in anything else. Other people are more enthusiastic about their hobbies and leisure interests than their jobs.

Discuss both these attitudes and give your own opinion.

You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

So I would like to discuss about the people who’s priority in life is a work, the thing is it actually connects with poverty as well , I will describe briefly.

The person who gives more importance to work rather than other activities are the one who has suffered a lot of difficulties in there early stage of life for example.

A boy who is school going ,his father is working in a company as store supervisor somehow his father lost the job now they are not able to cover there monthly expenses like food etc ,and the boys school fee is also not paid so whenever he goes to school the teacher reminds him about that you father didn’t pay the fee ,and his father didn’t give him pocket money because he did not had money .he feels that money is way more important in life then the other activities.

Now I would like to talk about the other person who gives more importance to other healthy activities rather than the work, I will give more or less same example that man is the one who may belongs to a wealthy family in his young age every wish was fulfilled by his family so he doesn’t have that feelings that money can be a problem in life. He never faced such disrespect in his life that his teacher will blame him for the fee which his father couldn’t pay so he won’t give that much importance to work than a boy who has faced such disrespect,
