Student answer (Band 5.0)
The both situations have their own pros and cons. If a person have more focus towards only their work and not enjoying their life . It can make a worst impact on his life. We need to remember balancing of everything is good. The other person is only focusing on his hobbies and leisure interest and not focus towards his life. One day he will feel a regret. For Success we should be loyal with ourself. Sometimes we give priority to our work and in some situations we quit the work for the time being and start to do fun activites. Lets understand it wirh my own story, When I was in college I just focused on my studies. Eventually I realized I lost my all friends and also I became so depressed. After a years I realized I needs to learn a proper balance in our life. If I want a sucess I should be more focused on my work. But for a mental health I needs to enjoy my hobbies and leisure activites that made me happy. I like the baking whenver I feel sad I made cookies for me. I also designate a days, like in week days I only do a work with proper dedication. While on weekend I enjoyed my hoobie which is baking an watching seasons on netflix. In this way I make myself more productive for the coming days. We can also make our hobbies our profession in this way while working, We can also starts to enjoy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both attitudes mentioned in the prompt and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat superficial. While you attempt to use a personal anecdote to support your argument, the explanation of why work-life balance is essential remains underdeveloped. The essay lacks a formal structure, such as a clear introduction or distinct body paragraphs, which makes the progression of ideas feel disjointed. To improve, ensure you clearly outline both perspectives in separate paragraphs before presenting your own view, and provide more generalized, analytical reasoning rather than relying solely on personal narrative.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks clear paragraphing, which is essential for organizing ideas in an IELTS Task 2 response. The flow between sentences is often abrupt, and the use of cohesive devices is minimal or mechanical (e.g., 'In this way', 'The other person'). There is a lack of logical progression; the transition from discussing the two viewpoints to your personal story is sudden. To improve, use clear topic sentences for each paragraph and employ a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'conversely', 'furthermore', 'consequently') to connect your arguments more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'make a worst impact' instead of 'have a negative impact', and 'seasons' instead of 'series' when referring to Netflix. While you attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary like 'productive' and 'dedication', the range is limited. To achieve a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary, and avoid informal phrasing like 'start to do fun activites'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('a person have', 'he needs to learn'), article usage ('a sucess', 'the baking'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'If a person have more focus... It can make a worst impact'). The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, with very few successful attempts at complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and punctuation, and practice combining simple sentences into complex ones using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions.
