Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary era, many people argue that work is the most important thing element in life while others believe their hobbies are more valuable than their profesions. However, in my opinion I believe both of them are equally essential elements and an individual should aim for a middle ground rather than choosing one over the other. Working hard Focusing and working hard results in money and stability while practicing hobbies restores energy and keeps the mind fresh.
On one hand, focusing on career and working hard helps in sustaining a person's life. As as the workplace pro offers more money depending
on the occupation this not only benefits an individual but also benefits the whole family. Moreover, working hard gives an individual a clear purpose and helps build specialized skills as a result one is able to have a recognized status in the society. On the contrary, working hard and only focusing on professional growth causes high stress and mental exhaustion.
On the other hand, spending time pursuing hobbies and leisure activities help people unwind and brings relaxation or joy. However, completely ignoring work or prioritising personal interests over professional life can lead to financial crisis and stability. In addition, unlike jobs in which a person Therefore, it is important to maintain a balance between professional development and personal growth secondly, hobbies have a timeless duration which means like in jobs where people retire at 55 hobbies can be pursued even in old age.
In conclusion, I believe in order to have a healthy lifestyle there should be a balance between profesional development and personal interests as neither of them work alone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the benefits of work are touched upon, the explanation of hobbies is somewhat fragmented, particularly in the third paragraph where the sentence structure breaks down. The argument regarding 'financial crisis' is relevant but could be more deeply explored. The response meets the requirements of the prompt, but the lack of depth in supporting examples keeps it at a mid-level band. To improve, ensure that each paragraph contains a fully developed point supported by a clear example or logical explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the flow is frequently interrupted by mechanical errors and incomplete sentences, such as 'In addition, unlike jobs in which a person Therefore, it is important...'. This indicates a struggle with cohesive devices and sentence integration. While the overall progression is discernible, the internal structure of the third paragraph is confusing, which hinders the reader's ability to follow the argument smoothly. Using a wider variety of linking words more accurately would help improve the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express basic ideas. There are some spelling errors (e.g., 'profesions', 'profesional') and minor word choice issues. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive, relying on common terms like 'working hard' and 'important'. To reach a higher band, the student should incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to career-life balance and psychological well-being, and pay closer attention to spelling accuracy to ensure that errors do not distract the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'In contemporary era' (missing article), 'As as the workplace pro offers' (repetition and incomplete thought), and the fragmented sentence in the third paragraph. While the meaning is generally understood, the control over complex structures is inconsistent. To improve, the student should focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofread to eliminate punctuation and minor grammatical slips.
