Some people regard work as the most important thing in life and have little interest in anything else. Other people are more enthusiastic about their hobbies and leisure interests than their jobs.
Discuss both these attitudes and give your own opinion.
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
According to a few individuals focusing on work is the most crucial phase than other interests in life. Whereas, some believe people are extremely interested in various hobbies rather than their professional life. I completely agree with the view that profession plays a significant role in everybody's life.
The kind of work a person chose reflects their personality. As it acts as a source of income and happiness, it must be considered as vital. This gives a wide range of opportunities to gain knowledge and experience. Only a positive attitude towards job will help as achieve greater position and respect in the future. For instance, some prestigious people like Mukesh Ambani grow highs in their lives because of their passion and dedication towards career. Hence, one must be wise in making their decision regarding their job.
On the other hand, investing quality of leisure time in hobbies can improve mental health and stability. This helps to relax from the stressful professional choice. For example, an employee struggling to complete a particular code successfully can spend time in their hobbies which they enjoy to retain energy.
In my opinion, enthusiasm about work is the most important thing than other personal interests. An enjoyable career impacts a person tremendously. It helps them pursue their goals. Hence, it is essential to concentrate on the occupation instead of other activities.
Therefore, I massively coincide with the view supporting the engagement in their occupation. This can help a person promote at superior positions and gain respect from the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that work provides income and hobbies improve mental health, these points are not fully extended with deep analysis or nuanced examples. The example of Mukesh Ambani is relevant but brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph explores the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments more thoroughly. The conclusion restates your position well, but the overall depth of the essay remains at a basic level of development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'According to', 'Whereas', 'On the other hand', and 'Therefore' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but the essay would benefit from a wider variety of cohesive devices to improve the flow and make the connections between your arguments more sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'crucial', 'professional life', 'stability', and 'occupation'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'grow highs' (should be 'achieved great heights') and 'promote at superior positions' (should be 'promoted to senior positions'). While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited and lacks the precision or flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on collocations and more precise academic phrasing will help improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'a person chose' (should be 'chooses'), 'help as achieve' (should be 'help us achieve'), and 'the most important thing than' (should be 'more important than'). These errors are frequent but do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately without missing articles or incorrect verb forms.
