Student answer (Band 5.5)
Group of proponents consider their work to be an essential thing in life and shows less interest in other things while it is argued by the critics as they are more enthusiastic towards their hobbies and leisure interests comparatively to their jobs .
Both the views have certain reasons and explanations while i believe that hobbies should not be ignored by the working individuals and should be considered important in their lives.
On one hand , supporters believe that work is an important thing and should be regarded superior than hobbies and other interests . Work is indeed an essential part of life by which workers are earning and ultimately serving their families. They overlook other interests so that they do not loose focus from their tasks and give extra efforts to it for a better outcome . for example-- the school teachers start looking towards their hobbies such as shopping , travelling etc , despite of plenty of work assigned to them by the school authority. As a result , they will not be able to focus on their work completion and may loose their job , sometimes , which will ultimately impact their mental well-being .
On contrary, the individuals who believe hobbies and other interets to be an important segment of their lives are happier . for example - an employee of a company plays pickleball every evening despite of poor weather conditions. As a result , they are able to unwind and recharge themselves for their upcoming tasks . Additionally, enjoying hobbies such as playing cards, badminton and cricket , will eventually lifts the mental well-being which further enhances the capacity of doing tasks more efficiently.
According to my opinion, hobbies are way more important in life nevertheless should be enjoyed in limits beacuse it may compromise with the work performance .Furthermore, a proper schedule should be maintained in order to balance both work as well as hobbies in order to avoid consequences by any of them if overlooked.
To conclude with the fact that work is necessary but hobbies should be included for relaxation in order to boost work efficiency. however , limits should be set to maintain balance between work and hobbies to avoid any mishappenings in work zone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both work-centric attitudes and hobby-centric attitudes, while also providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are supported with relevant explanations and examples, such as the mention of teachers and employees. However, some arguments contain minor contradictions or slight lapses in logic, such as the example of school teachers getting distracted by shopping, which slightly conflates focus with leisure prioritization. Overall, the position is clear throughout, and the main tenets of the task are adequately covered, fulfilling the criteria for a solid Band 6.5 or Band 7.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points of view and personal opinions. Cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'On contrary' (though slightly inaccurate in phrasing), and 'Additionally' are employed to guide the reader through the text. However, referencing and logical progression are occasionally flawed by mechanical or slightly awkward transitions, and punctuation surrounding cohesive markers (such as unnecessary spaces before commas) detracts from the fluency of the layout.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items like 'proponents', 'well-being', 'unwind', and 'mishappenings'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'essential thing in life and shows less interest' (subject-verb agreement/plurality mismatch), 'comparatively to their jobs', 'loose focus' (instead of lose), and 'lifts the mental well-being'. These minor lexical errors and spelling slips prevent the essay from reaching a higher band, but communication remains clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, incorporating relative clauses and conditional ideas. While there is a reasonable range of structures, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. Frequent errors include tense and preposition slips, such as 'despite of poor weather conditions' (instead of 'despite poor weather' or 'in spite of'), 'According to my opinion' (should be 'In my opinion'), and punctuation spacing issues (e.g., spaces before commas and periods). Despite these errors, the meaning is generally clear and does not impede overall comprehension.
