Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, containing only 239 words, which results in a necessary penalty under Task Achievement. While the candidate attempts to discuss both attitudes towards work and leisure, the development of ideas is severely compromised by incomplete sentences, disjointed thoughts, and lack of clear argumentation. The writer states an opinion in the introduction, but the body paragraphs degenerate into fragmented, repetitive phrases and incoherent clauses that fail to properly explore the prompt. Key phrases like 'job is creating of life' or the generic study reference do not constitute substantive support or a well-developed discussion. Therefore, the response can only be credited at a low level for addressing the task minimally and unclearly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

Coherence and cohesion are major weak points in this essay. The text lacks logical organisation and progression throughout. While some transitional markers like 'However' and 'To conclude' are attempted, they are used incorrectly or attached to nonsensical clauses, such as 'However it is also important to consider the potential pitfall associated with' which trails off without completing the thought. Paragraphing is poorly handled, with the entire body of the essay compressed into a single, rambling block of text that fails to separate distinct ideas. Furthermore, referencing is frequently unclear, making it extremely difficult for the reader to follow any logical thread or relationship between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The lexical resource displayed is extremely limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic words such as 'job', 'work', 'life', and 'people'. There are numerous word choice and collocation errors, such as 'stable the life', 'amoung people', and 'criket'. Attempts at less common vocabulary result in awkward or unidiomatic phrases like 'gauge thr magnitude of its relivent'. Spelling errors are present, and vocabulary control is weak throughout, forcing the reader to guess intended meanings. Consequently, the lexical range does not exceed a basic level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range and accuracy are very poor. The response contains a high density of severe grammatical errors, including fragments, run-on sentences, missing verbs, and incorrect prepositions. Examples include 'people who argue Other people are more serious...', 'because which is all ready attach job affecting society', and 'jobs offer in lower education person'. Simple sentences are frequently malformed, and complex structures are attempted without any success, leading to frequent errors that severely impede communication and distort meaning. There is a complete lack of control over basic sentence construction.
