Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is highly argued that many people think that work is more crucial in these days because without job anybody cannot survive in their life, while others think that hoobies are vital as well as work. From my perspective, both are paramount in humans life owing to work play a big role in this generation, whereas hoobies are more important for maintaining our health. Therefore, I will dicuss both views.
On the one hand, occupation gives more advantages in recent years. First and foremost, it develops personal growth. To elaborate it, in recent years things are more expensive such as home rents, vehicles, plat and others. So, if people work they make their life easy as well as they can purchase anything and also it develops their mind. Work in any company thaught them how they handle the challenging situation and provide solutions of this. As a consequence, they do not give up from any obstacles and they find there solution.
On the other hand, hobbies are significant for people because if they do work all time it's affect their mental and physical health. Initially, hoobies make humankind fit and fine. To explain it, when they go for a walk in the gardens it maintain their physical and mental health because nowadays people prefer their much time on work which increases stress and if effects on their mental health. Nevertheless, if individuals prefer their hobbies it helps reduce their stress and nake their mind free from all worries.
To sum up, both give benefits of humanbeing, therefore they prefer both things hobbies and work because without it they cannot enjoy their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both attitudes towards work and hobbies and clearly stating a personal position in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, noting economic pressures for work and health benefits for hobbies, but they tend to be somewhat repetitive and under-developed. For instance, the explanation of how work 'develops their mind' relies on repetitive phrasing ('such as home rents, vehicles, plat and others') without deep extension. While the position is clear throughout, the support would benefit from more specific examples rather than general assertions. Overall, the response meets the baseline requirements for Band 6 under Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, utilizing standard cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To sum up'. However, the use of these cohesive links is sometimes mechanical or intrusive, and referencing can be imprecise (e.g., 'and if effects on their mental health'). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, but the logical progression within the body paragraphs occasionally stumbles due to repetitive sentence structures. These minor faults place the response solidly within the Band 6 descriptor for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'paramount', 'opportunity', and 'obstacles'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'hoobies' instead of hobbies, 'plat' instead of flat, 'thaught' instead of taught, and 'nake' instead of make. While these lexical errors occur frequently, they do not severely impede communication as the reader can still understand the intended meaning. This performance fits the Band 5.5 to 6.0 profile, leaning towards a 6.0 due to the successful use of some functional academic vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures (e.g., 'if individuals prefer their hobbies it helps reduce their stress'). However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('work play a big role'), missing articles ('without job anybody cannot survive'), and awkward phrasing ('they do not give up from any obstacles'). These errors occasionally cause strain for the reader, though communication is generally maintained. This matches the characteristics of Band 5.0, where a limited range of structures is attempted and frequent errors persist.
