Student answer (Band 6.0)
Few individuals thinks that the work has more value in life, whereas in other activities masses have less interest. Although some masses holds the viewpoint in former statement because of luxurious lifestyle, I believe that people have to show their interest in other activities which holds more importance.
On the one hand, the main reason why some masses favor thr former statement is because of luxurious lifestyle. This is due to fact that mostly people have a desire to live a luxury life which is only possible by doing work. If people do not do work, then they may not live a wealthy life due to financial crisis. For instance, people of developed nations prefer the work over other hobbies by which their country get developed. Thus, the people have to get engaged with work for fulfilling their basic needs.
On the other hand, I believe that the latter statement holds the more importance due to physical and mental development. To elaborate, people must have to show their interest towards their hobbies because of their body development. Hobbies not only makes us physically fit, but also mentally by which people can stay energetic and active for the whole day. Another major reason is living peaceful life. To clarify, the people who only prefer to do a work for the whole time, then they may face problems like stress, anxiety by which their life may be get disturbed and they cannot live their life peacefully. For example, masses who show their interest in their hobbies they have good IQ level. Therefore, hobbies make the life easy and interesting.
To conclude, even though people support the former viewpoint, I believe that latter statement is valuable because of body development and peaceful life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the view that work is the most important aspect of life and the alternative view favouring hobbies, while also clearly stating the writer's personal opinion. The position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack deep development or specific, fully articulated examples. For instance, the reference to 'people of developed nations prefer the work over other hobbies' is a broad over-generalization and remains under-developed. Similarly, the arguments regarding mental development and stress are stated rather than thoroughly explored. This places the response comfortably in Band 6, as all parts of the task are addressed with relevant ideas, but some areas lack sufficient extension and clarity to reach Band 7.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, utilizing four distinct paragraphs that appropriately separate the introduction, the two body perspectives, and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal the progression of ideas, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, 'former statement' and 'latter statement' are used awkwardly without smooth integration. Furthermore, some sentences lack seamless logical links, leading to a somewhat choppy reading experience. Overall, the organizational structure is logical enough to meet the Band 6 descriptors, although it lacks the flexible and sophisticated cohesive control required for higher bands.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and phrasing such as 'financial crisis', 'luxurious lifestyle', and 'peaceful life'. However, there are notable word-choice errors, unnatural collocations, and repetitive phrasing throughout the text, such as 'masses have less interest', 'live a luxury life', and 'prefer to do a work for the whole time'. Vocabulary like 'masses' is used repeatedly and inappropriately to refer to general people. Spelling is generally accurate, but the lexical inaccuracies and limitations prevent the response from achieving a Band 7. The vocabulary used is minimally sufficient to convey the intended meaning without severely impeding communication, fitting the Band 6 profile.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses, such as 'which is only possible by doing work' and 'the people who only prefer to do a work'. However, grammatical errors are frequent throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Few individuals thinks'), missing or incorrect articles ('thr former statement', 'doing a work', 'live a luxury life'), and awkward phrasing ('their life may be get disturbed'). While these errors are noticeable and cause occasional difficulty for the reader, they do not completely impede overall communication. The control of grammar aligns well with the Band 5 descriptor, where attempts at complex structures are often faulty and frequent errors persist.
