You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

As the world is becoming more fast-paced over the years. Some people are more inclined on keeping their schedules busy with work, Whereas others prefer to enjoy their lives to the fullest. While their may be some justification for both sides. I firmly believe that balanced attitude should be adopted. Mainly, because professional work life puntuality helps a person to climb the status ladder more early in life than others. However, people should accomodate some spare time in their daily routines to enjoy their hobbies to unwind and relax.

A fundamental reason for this perspective is having a bright professional career. This stems largely from the fact that working overtime or puntually makes a person more skilled in his profession. From practical stand point this means that higher ups or authorities would be more optimistic in promoting and giving grants. The significance of this reasoning can be observed when a firefighter practices and spends most of his time with work. He will utimately become a skilled worker among his collegues and will be noticed by his supervisor ,resulting in a better position.

On the other hand, having time to enjoy personal life and with family members provides a substantial reson for this view. Spending time on hobbies and leisure activities not only gives an opportunity to put hair down and clear mind after having busy schedules. Moreover, leisure interests like painting, travelling not only boosts creativity but allows a person to interact and explore world from different angle. It can be observed in a senario if a youngster enters in a buisness profession. He rather than leaving his hobby of exploring around the world behind incorporates in his life.He might get to travel different destinations and learning new values and cultures of the locals .

In conclusion, I firmly believe that both plays an essential roles in our lives even when accomplishing task, one should work on their hobbies or extracurricular activities to make their lives more productive and enthrilling.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both attitudes towards work and leisure, and presents a clear personal opinion that a balanced approach is best. Relevant ideas are presented, such as professional advancement through dedication and personal enrichment through hobbies. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack full extension. For instance, the example of the firefighter is somewhat brief, and the scenario of the youngster entering the business profession is slightly unclear in its logical progression and connection to the main argument. The main position is clear throughout the text, but providing more fully explained supporting examples would elevate the task response to a higher level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Information and ideas are generally organized logically, starting with work-focused attitudes, moving to leisure-focused perspectives, and finishing with a balanced conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. There are issues with sentence fragments and referencing, such as starting sentences with conjunctions or relative links like 'Mainly, because professional work life puntuality helps...' and 'He rather than leaving his hobby... incorporates in his life.' Paragraphing is used, but the internal logical progression within paragraphs can occasionally feel disjointed due to these mechanical cohesive ties.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'enthralling', 'status ladder', and 'extracurricular activities'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('puntuality', 'accomodate', 'reson', 'senario', 'buisness') and word choice or form inaccuracies ('a balanced attitude should be adopted' missing an article, 'put hair down' instead of 'let your hair down'). These lexical inaccuracies do not seriously impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent the response from achieving a higher band. A greater focus on spelling precision and natural collocations is needed.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at varied structures. There are, however, some errors in grammar and punctuation, including fragment sentences like 'As the world is becoming more fast-paced over the years. Some people...', missing articles ('balanced attitude', 'world'), and preposition or agreement slips ('both plays an essential roles'). While these errors are present, they rarely impede communication, and the meaning of the sentences generally remains clear to the reader. To improve, the writer needs to reduce basic structural errors and ensure more reliable control over complex sentence boundaries.
