Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern era majority of the population are committed with their work life and giving least importance to their interests or personal life.Fewer folks believe that the people are more happy with their enthusiastic life like hobbies and interests than job.

I will discuss both the views and provide an example and express my opinion in this essay.

Firstly, focusing on the work without any distractions is very important aspect in life this will give an discipline, punctuality, and dedication in the life which is an major aspects in life. And helps in growth in the career and move into higher position in profession. But,it is also to balance the personal life because it is necessary to explore new things and spending time with family and friends gives kind of pleasure in order to get rid of work stress and also improve the bond in relationships. This kind of joy gives fulfillment in life.Spending more amount of time in work cannot fulfillment the new creativity.

On the other hand, some individuals are interested to enjoy their hobbies or passion to the fullest with out any proper job this will lead to wrong step in the career or in lifetime.Very least population are successed in their passion if they follow their aim very strongly. But this will not make achievement in the work.Feels very negative impacts on themselves. And failure gives psychological depression in losing something.

For instance,In the Ireland country majority of the younger generations are working in their professional jobs and getting high remuneration for the job roles. With out depending on others at early stages. And aslo enjoying their lives.

However,in my opinion it is better to focus on work rather than following the hobbies which cannot gives an guarantee success to the liveliness.

In conclusion instead of following others or relying on unnecessary hobbies it is better to work and spend the personal time with family members and friends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both attitudes and state a clear preference for prioritising work, so the response is relevant to the question. The discussion of work identifies discipline, career growth and higher positions, while the opposing view mentions pursuing hobbies without a secure job and the risk of disappointment. However, these ideas are only partly developed: the claim that few people succeed in their passion is not explained or supported, and the Ireland example focuses on young people earning well and enjoying life rather than clearly illustrating either attitude. Your opinion also dismisses hobbies as unlikely to guarantee success, without considering their value beyond career achievement. Develop each side with a specific, relevant example and explain how it supports your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, discussion of work, a contrasting paragraph, an example, your opinion and a conclusion. Transitions such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The first body paragraph moves from career benefits to family relationships and creativity without clearly connecting these points, and the Ireland example is separated from the argument it is meant to support. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “this” in “this will lead to wrong step” do not identify the preceding idea precisely. Group related points together and use clearer links between claims, explanations and examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “career,” “dedication,” “hobbies,” “remuneration,” and “psychological depression,” which helps convey the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “committed with their work life,” “more happy with their enthusiastic life,” and “cannot fulfillment the new creativity” do not express the intended meanings naturally. There are also spelling errors such as “aslo” and “successed.” Build a bank of accurate phrases for discussing work-life balance and leisure, and check word forms and spelling. More precise vocabulary would make your arguments clearer and less repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “But it is also to balance the personal life” and a conditional idea beginning “if they follow their aim.” However, many sentences contain errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms, which sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “majority of the population are committed” needs a clearer grammatical construction, while “this will give an discipline” has article and noun-form problems. The fragment “Feels very negative impacts on themselves” also lacks a clear subject and verb structure. Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and full stops. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms.
