You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the present epoch, some people pay their whole attention towards their work and consider it the most significant part of their life and pay no heed towards other activities. On the other hand, some individuals are more leaned towards their hobbies and leisure interests rather than their jobs.
The people who are inclined towards work consider this the most important part of their life. These people are aware of their responsibilities and work hard to meet the requirements of their daily work. However, they have no time for the other activites as they are busy in their own work. They find little interest in other activities because their work has occupied their brain. To illustrate this, working class have no time for the enjoyment as they spend most of their time working in their offices.
Conversely, those people who are addicted to pleasure and enjoyment pay less heed towards their work and job. Moreover, they enjoy the beauty of the world and they are less worried about their work. For instance, people with traveling hobby are more happy than any other person because they are often enjoying the happiest parts of their lives.
I am of the opinion that every person should enjoy their lives and pay attention to other activities as well so that he can be more happy and makes his mind fresh and ever growing. This thing helps him to be relieved of pressure and depression but work-life balance must be included in every area of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both attitudes and give a clear personal view: the first body paragraph describes people focused on work, the next presents people who prioritise leisure, and the final paragraph supports enjoying life while maintaining balance. This covers the task, but the discussion remains general and some ideas are under-developed. For example, the claim that work-focused people “have no time” for other activities is not explored, and the travel example says leisure-oriented people are happier without explaining why or acknowledging possible drawbacks. Your opinion is present, but it arrives only in the conclusion and could be stated more clearly in the introduction. Develop each position with a reason and a specific, relevant example to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a concluding opinion. The contrast between the views is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “Conversely” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger control through clear paragraphing and progression. However, cohesion is occasionally mechanical, with repeated references to “work” and “people,” and links between claims are sometimes abrupt. For instance, the paragraph about leisure moves from enjoying the world to the example of travelling without developing the connection. Use more varied referencing and explain how each example supports its main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range to discuss work and leisure, including phrases such as “most significant part,” “responsibilities,” “leisure interests,” and “work-life balance.” There are also attempts at more formal vocabulary, but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “more leaned towards” and “addicted to pleasure and enjoyment” do not express the intended ideas naturally. “Pay no heed towards” is also an awkward collocation, and “activites” is misspelled. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the main message, but they make parts of the response less fluent. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling, rather than choosing formal-sounding phrases that do not fit the context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “so that,” and most ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors occur, but they rarely obstruct the message. For example, “working class have no time” needs an article or plural form, while “he can be more happy and makes his mind fresh” has inconsistent verb forms and an unclear pronoun reference. The final sentence also joins several ideas in a way that would be clearer with more controlled punctuation and sentence structure. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and parallel verb forms, and make sure each sentence expresses one clearly connected idea.
