Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that some people believe that work as the most important thing in life but other believe that hobbies and leisure activities are the main part of our life. From my perspective, both work and leisure activities are still important in our life.
First of all, some people gives most of their times and attention on jobs. They believe that work are very important for living. Earning money is very important for making life easier because people can achieve everything by their incomes. In addition, people can get their goals like educational goals and personal goals. They need money to pay bills, buy food and vegetable, also they can education to their children. For instance, if an engineers work hard they can get promotions and achieve succes in their careers.
On the other hands, some people belive that earning money and work are not main purpose if their life. They want to get some enjoyments with their families. They are interested in their hobbies like they play cricket, football, and other games with their friends and enjoy a lot. Moreover, they want to get relax by listening to music. Also they travel with their familie and really enjoy with each others.
In my opinion, work is necessary for a successful life, but people should not ignore their hobbies and personal interests. Working too much can cause stress and leave little time for family. Similarly, spending too much time on hobbies without paying attention to work can create financial problems. Therefore, people should manage their time properly and give importance to both areas.
In conclusion, although some people focus mainly on their careers, others prefer hobbies and leisure activities. I believe that a balance between work and free time is the best way to live a happy and successful life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both attitudes and give a clear personal view: work is necessary, but leisure and family time also matter. The discussion is relevant, and the examples of earning money for bills and education, and enjoying sports or music, help illustrate each side. The conclusion reinforces your preference for balance. However, the work-focused argument is more developed than the leisure side, which mainly lists activities without explaining their benefits in much depth. The point that people can “achieve everything by their incomes” is also too broad and would benefit from qualification. To strengthen the response, explain more specifically how leisure supports wellbeing or relationships, and develop each example with a clear link to your argument. The length requirement is met; the eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, your own view, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “First of all,” “On the other hands,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. The main limitation is that some linking is mechanical, and connections within paragraphs are not always clear. For example, the work paragraph moves from income to personal goals and then to an engineer’s promotion without fully explaining how these points relate. The leisure paragraph also strings activities together with repeated “Also” and “Moreover.” Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each example and the paragraph’s main idea explicit; clearer referencing would also help the reader follow who “they” refers to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss work, money, family, and leisure, including relevant terms such as “promotions,” “careers,” “financial problems,” and “manage their time.” The meaning is generally understandable, but word choice, collocation, word forms, and spelling are inconsistent. Examples include “get some enjoyments,” “get relax,” “vegetable,” “belive,” and “succes.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “achieve everything by their incomes.” These issues limit the naturalness and precision of the expression, even when the intended meaning can be inferred. Build a bank of common collocations for this topic and check spelling and word forms during revision. More precise phrasing would help you express the benefits and drawbacks of each attitude without relying on general statements.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and some more complex forms, including “although” in the conclusion and “but” to contrast work with leisure. Most ideas remain understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles reduce accuracy. For example, “some people gives” should use a plural verb, while “work are very important” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The opening phrase “some people believe that work as the most important thing” is missing a verb construction, and “they can education to their children” does not form a complete grammatical pattern. To improve, check subject–verb agreement and ensure each clause has a complete verb phrase. Practising accurate complex sentences would add range while keeping your meaning clear.
