Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both attitudes and state a clear general view: “both work or hobbies are equally crucial” because they support balance. The work paragraph gives relevant reasons—financial stability and meeting family needs—and the hobbies paragraph explains stress relief and mental well-being, with examples such as dancing and drawing. However, the discussion remains broad and some points are difficult to follow, so the ideas are only partly developed. For example, the link between career effort and “happy life” is asserted rather than explained, and the conclusion mostly repeats the two sides instead of showing how you weigh them. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and make your final opinion more decisive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and linking language is repetitive or sometimes inaccurate. Both body paragraphs begin with “On the one hand,” although the second presents the contrasting view; using “On the other hand” would clarify the relationship. Several ideas are joined in long sequences, particularly in the hobbies paragraph, making the connections between stress relief, relaxation, and examples less clear. The conclusion also repeats earlier points rather than bringing them together. Use a wider range of accurate transitions and organise each paragraph around one main reason followed by its explanation and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial condition,” “mental well-being,” “reduce our stress,” and “balanced life.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both practical and personal benefits. However, the range is limited and errors in spelling, word form, and collocation are noticeable, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “curicial,” “acheive,” “sucessfull,” and “financial stable”; phrases such as “relaxation our deep soul” are also unnatural. Repeated use of “life,” “important,” and “hobbies” limits precision. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms, aiming for natural phrases such as “achieve financial stability” and “maintain a healthy work-life balance.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “Additionally, it can improve our mental health…” This shows some effort to connect ideas in more complex structures. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. In “they doing hard to achieve,” the verb form is incomplete; “their hobbies is” has a subject–verb agreement error; and “Not always work can be provieds happy” has an unclear word order and faulty verb construction. Some sentences also run several ideas together without clear punctuation. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build longer sentences using controlled subordinate clauses and check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
