Student answer (Band 5.5)
This essay discuss about the different preferences of different people. As some enjoy their work too much that anything else does not excite them. Their is also a group of people who also take interest in other activities and sometime more then their work. We will discuss both these aspects in our essay.
Overall, it depends on the nature of the work and perspective of a person that kill their interest from anyother activity. Additionally, their are people who enjoy everything except their work, it also depends on the nature of their work and their mindset.
Some people are living like machines, living a robotic life, follow the same routine from years and never dare to try anything new, nothing excites them. They always avoid adventures, fear to go out from their zone. Their whole life surrounds on the same routine. According to them their work is the nest entertainment for them and there is no need for anything else now, they enjoy their work where they tackle new challanges daily and love to learn new things. It excites them. They are not completely wrong here. It directly connects with their early life events. For Example, some people suffer through any trauma or bearing responsibilities from very young age, they nevery had time to enjoy or do anything with their will. Gradually they lose interest and make their work as the most crucial project of their life.
Conversely, There is a group of people who enjoy their life to the fullest. They have hobbies, spent time in leisure, have multiple interests. They also work but never make it the center of their life. They go to office, they travel, meet the acquiantances, do painting and live an enthusiastic life. It also leads to their previous life incidents. For Example. a person spent early days of his life in enjoying, making friends, in travel, he never had the burden of resposibilities to effect his mental health so he enjoy everything.
In conclusion, the person who has little interest in anything else, never has the chance to live that life, it had effected his mindset and he is use to live like this, but with some effort, he can live all that now, if he make friends and they help him out. I believe every one must have balance in their life with work and entertainment. Only one thing is not good.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both attitudes and state a clear view in the conclusion: “every one must have balance in their life with work and entertainment.” The two body paragraphs also give relevant explanations, including how early responsibilities may lead someone to focus on work and how a less burdened upbringing may support leisure interests. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The examples remain hypothetical and broad, and the first attitude is described as a “robotic life” before the essay explains that some people genuinely find challenge and learning in their jobs. Your own opinion appears most clearly at the end rather than being established and supported throughout. Develop each side with a specific example and explain more directly why balance is preferable.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a conclusion. “Conversely” signals the shift to the second group, and “In conclusion” makes the ending easy to identify. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear because several ideas are placed together without showing their relationship. For example, the first body paragraph moves from routine and fear of adventure to job satisfaction, then to trauma and responsibilities. The introduction and second paragraph also repeat that a person’s outlook depends on their nature or past. Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main explanation, and connect examples explicitly to the point they support. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary to describe work and leisure, including “routine,” “responsibilities,” “hobbies,” “leisure,” and “enthusiastic.” Phrases such as “center of their life” communicate the central contrast. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts less natural or occasionally difficult to follow: “the nest entertainment,” “surrounds on the same routine,” “acquaintances,” and “challanges.” Some expressions are also vague or repetitive, such as “enjoy everything” and “anything else.” Aim for more precise language about job satisfaction, personal fulfilment, and work-life balance, and check spelling and common word combinations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “that” and “who,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors occur frequently in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and punctuation, which sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “This essay discuss” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “a person spent early days of his life … so he enjoy everything” shifts tense and has an incomplete article pattern. “Some people are living like machines, living a robotic life, follow the same routine” combines clauses without a consistent grammatical structure. Practise building accurate sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check agreement, tense consistency, articles, and sentence boundaries during revision.
