Student answer (Band 5.0)
SOME PEOPLES ARE NOT INTRESTED IN HOBBIES BUT MY OPINION , WORK AS MOST IMPORTANT IN LIFE AND HAVE A LITTLE INTREST IN EVERYTHING ELSE LIKE HOBBIES E.G BAD-MATION , CRICKET,HOCKEY AND FOOTBALL ETC. I CAN PLAY AND YOU PHYSICAL HEALTH BETTER , YOUR MIND STRESS LEVEL BETTER. YOU ARE FEELING BETTER.HOBBIES ARE MOST IMPORTANT IN OUR DAILY LIFE. MY OPNION FOOTBALL AND CRICKET , BAD MATION IS BEST HOBBIES IN OUR LIFE AND MY EXPERIENCE THIS HOBBBIES CAN RELATE THIS PHYSICAL HEALTH AND MENTAL HEALTH IMPORTANT.MY OPNION JOB IS VERY IMPORTANT IN OUR LIFE BASICALLY MY LIFE IS VER HARD I AM STUDENT AND HAVE A PART TIME JOB I AM A TRAVEL CONSULTANT AND FREE TIME IN OUR LIFE IS MOST IMPORTANT. YOU CAN ENJOY A FREE TIME WITH OUR FRIEND AND FAMILY. MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN RELATED TO BEST HOBBIES.AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE A LITTLE INTREST IN HOBBIES. Some individuals prioritize work above all else, viewing career success and professional achievement as their primary source of fulfillment and purpose. While this intense dedication can lead to financial stability, rapid promotion, and notable industry contributions, it frequently results in burnout and neglected personal relationships.
Conversely, others find greater joy in hobbies and leisure pursuits, treating employment merely as a means to fund their passions. Engaging in creative, physical, or social activities enhances mental well-being and fosters a balanced lifestyle. However, overemphasizing leisure can impede professional growth.
In my opinion, balance is essential; work provides independence, while hobbies enrich our lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both attitudes: the opening discusses work as a priority, while the later paragraphs describe people who value hobbies and the benefits and drawbacks of each. Your view that “balance is essential” is clear, and the examples of your part-time job and sports give the answer a personal basis. However, the first section is difficult to interpret, and the discussion of the two positions is not developed evenly. For example, the benefits of work are listed in the later paragraph, but the opening mixes work, hobbies, and health without clearly explaining the work-focused attitude. To strengthen the response, state each viewpoint distinctly, then explain and support it with a specific example before giving your balanced conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation: the response moves from an initial personal discussion to paragraphs beginning “Some individuals prioritize work” and “Conversely,” before ending with your opinion. These transitions help signal the two contrasting attitudes. However, the opening is a long sequence of loosely connected statements, and the overall progression is weakened by repeated references to “my opinion” and “my experience.” Ideas such as hobbies improving health appear several times without being grouped into a clear paragraph. Use separate paragraphs for the work-focused view, the leisure-focused view, and your own position. Within each, connect claims to explanations and examples, and use pronouns and linking phrases only where their references are clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The later part of the response shows useful topic vocabulary, including “financial stability,” “professional achievement,” “burnout,” “mental well-being,” and “balanced lifestyle.” These phrases help express the contrast between career and leisure. However, the earlier section relies on basic, repeated wording such as “important,” “my opinion,” and “my experience,” and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts harder to understand, including “INTRESTED,” “BAD-MATION,” and “you physical health better.” Aim for more accurate, varied language and check spelling carefully. Choose precise phrases for the ideas you mean—for example, describe how exercise “improves physical health” rather than using an unclear construction.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both short statements and more complex sentences. The later sentence beginning “While this intense dedication can lead to financial stability…” shows an effective subordinate clause, and the contrast introduced by “Conversely” is expressed in a complete sentence. However, many sentences in the opening are fragments or have faulty structures, such as “I CAN PLAY AND YOU PHYSICAL HEALTH BETTER” and “MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN RELATED TO BEST HOBBIES.” Missing or misplaced verbs, articles, and sentence boundaries often make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise building complete subject–verb sentences, then combine related ideas with clauses such as “because” or “although.” Consistent punctuation and sentence boundaries would also make the argument easier to read.
