Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both attitudes: the work-focused view is linked to income, financial security and helping family, while the hobby-focused view is associated with family time, happiness and possible success in sport. Your conclusion also gives a preference for work. However, the position is not fully clear: “I partialy agree” is not explained, and the conclusion’s claim that “job is better” does not specify how hobbies should be balanced with work. Several points remain general, such as the example about cricket, which does not explain how hobbyists become successful or support the argument with relevant detail. Develop each side with a clearer explanation and a specific example, then state a consistent opinion. The response meets the task’s length requirement; 18 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast, and the ideas within the work paragraph generally relate to financial benefits. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the shift from financial security to siblings, for example, is not fully explained. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, as in “Additional,” and “while” in the conclusion does not clearly connect the clauses. References such as “This” and “them” can also leave the reader unsure which idea is meant. Use fewer, more accurate transitions and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “financial support,” “professional success,” “hobbies,” and “sports,” which makes the main subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, word-form and spelling errors make expression awkward or occasionally unclear. Examples include “a income,” “saving money,” “face a lot of happiness,” and “peace of menatlly relax”; spelling errors include “chossen,” “succeded,” and “familiy.” Some phrases appear to be direct translations rather than natural English. Build a bank of accurate collocations for work, leisure and wellbeing, and check spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the contrast between financial security and personal fulfilment.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “If their siblings have not ability… then they help them,” and a relative clause beginning “who focus on their job.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns. For example, “This help them” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “Job give us money” and “hobby give us” also need agreement and article or plural adjustments. The sentence beginning “For instance, the people who hobby to play cricket…” is incomplete or structurally unclear. Articles, verb forms, agreement and punctuation also need attention. Practise building accurate sentences first, then extend them with clauses, checking that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
