Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent time, some people prioritize their carrer over anyting else while others focus on their hobbies than their jobs. To some extent I agree with the statement that people should give importance to their hobbies along with their work.
Today world is becoming more competitive day by day. In order to shine in life, people have become more busier to maintain their work life. In addition, they have also forgotten that they have a life beside their carrer. They are setting to their desk for long hours even after completing the schedule work because they want to work more to get promotion. Moreover, they also do not pay attention towards their hobbies and other things. For example, some people work even in the weekneeds or holidays rather than spending quality time with families or maintaining hobbies.
On the other hand, some people love to enjoy their life while going gardening, reading books or collecting stamps as their hobbies. Furthermore, doing these kinds of things help to reduce stress and monotony of life. It also helps to relax our mind, broaden our outlook and enrich our knowledge. However, some people remain busy with all these and give less importance to their work life. As a result, they may face some consequences like they may not get promotion or fail to perform better in their office. For all these reasons, I think that people should maintain the balance between their professional and personal life. For example, if someone do gardening in his spare time and complete his work at the office work, he will be able to maintain a proper balance.
In conclusion, opinions may vary from person to person, in my prespective, people should maintain a balance while focusing on carrer along with maintaining his hobbies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both attitudes: the first body paragraph explains why some people prioritise work, while the next describes the benefits of hobbies and the possible cost of neglecting work. Your position—that people should balance professional and personal life—is clear in the introduction, body and conclusion. Examples such as working on holidays and gardening in spare time are relevant. This meets the task well, but the discussion is uneven: the reasons people devote themselves to work are explained more fully than the motivations of people who put leisure first. The consequences of neglecting work are also asserted rather than illustrated. To strengthen the response, develop each side with a specific explanation or example and make the comparison between the two attitudes more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking phrases such as “In addition,” “On the other hand,” and “As a result” help signal the direction of the argument. The progression is generally easy to follow, though some connections feel mechanical, and the second body paragraph carries several functions: describing hobbies, explaining their benefits, warning about work consequences, and giving your recommendation. The reference in “For all these reasons” is also broad, as it could refer to several preceding points. Group related ideas more tightly and use clearer references or transitions to show how each example supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competitive,” “promotion,” “monotony,” “broaden our outlook,” and “professional and personal life.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, but inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural. Examples include “carrer,” “anyting,” “weekneeds,” and “prespective”; “setting to their desk” and “maintain their work life” are also awkward collocations. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they limit precision and control. Proofread spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, such as “sit at their desks,” “career,” and “work-life balance,” rather than translating phrases directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because,” and “if.” Most sentences communicate their meaning, and the argument remains understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. For example, “people have become more busier” uses an incorrect comparative form, “doing these kinds of things help” has subject–verb disagreement, and “if someone do gardening” needs a singular verb. The final sentence also shifts between “people” and “his,” making the reference inconsistent. Review agreement and pronoun consistency, and check sentence patterns when combining ideas. Greater accuracy across these structures would make the response more fluent.
