Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You identify both attitudes: careers can provide financial security, while hobbies can help people manage stress. You also give a relevant personal view that time should be divided between work and interests. However, the response only begins to address the discussion: neither attitude is explained with a developed reason or example, and your opinion is stated rather than supported. The task requires a discussion of both positions and a clear, reasoned view, so the ideas need substantial extension. The response is also 174 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop the argument. Add separate discussion of each attitude, explain its benefits or drawbacks, and support your position with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic progression: it introduces the two attitudes and then gives your opinion. The contrast marker “Whereas” helps signal the shift between work and leisure, and “because” introduces a reason for your view. At this length, however, there is no developed paragraph structure or clear progression of supporting points. The second sentence also moves quickly from wanting more income to needing recovery, without explaining the connection. To improve, organise the essay into an introduction, a paragraph for each attitude, and a conclusion. Use linking phrases to show how each reason supports the main point, rather than relying on a single contrast and a brief explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “careers,” “stable financial income,” “interests,” “stress,” and “recover.” These choices make your main ideas understandable. However, the range is narrow, and several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, such as “belive,” “thier,” “finanicial,” and “proirtize.” Some phrases are also unnatural: “make them save their future” does not clearly express financial security, and “clarify their mind from stress” is not an idiomatic way to describe relaxation. Build a more precise range around job security, work-life balance, leisure activities, and mental well-being. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations so your vocabulary expresses the intended meaning naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas using clauses, as in “because its make them…” and “because if want more income…,” and the overall meaning can generally be followed. However, these structures are not controlled: “its make” needs a correctly formed subject and verb, while “if want” is missing a subject. There are also problems with sentence construction in “Whereas, other people they should have a time,” where the contrast clause is incomplete and the subject is repeated. The response relies on a small number of long, joined sentences, so it does not yet show a secure range of accurate structures. Practise complete simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with correct subjects, verbs, and punctuation.
